Innocent Manjengenja is a stone sculptor who finds the inspiration for his work from the ancient Shona cultural sculpture forms of Zimbabwe. He has done stone sculpture since his boyhood and blossomed into his present level of expertise through the tutorship of Gift Muchenje of the Chapungu Sculpture Park, as well as the internationally renowned sculptors, Arthur Fata and Garrison Machinjili.
Innocent finds inspiration in nature and communicates his gratitude for the blessings of nature through his sculptures. While much of his work is based on the beautiful creatures of nature, he also does abstract pieces for which he draws inspiration from self-introspection.
Innocent's work has been successfully exhibited in Johannesburg, Cape Town, the USA, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. He uses a variety of stone from his beloved Zimbabwe which he sculpts, chisels and polishes to perfection. It is a joy to see him at work. Innocent gladly undertakes commissioned pieces.
